Situated in the middle of snowy land and quite complicated landscape, the house is like an oasis in the middle of desert. It is in one word “warming”. The use of woods as the main materials for its outer part cannot be better and it is like a spark of fire that pleases one’s body in the middle of cold weather. What about getting into the inside parts? It will be fun.
It is Ralph Germann Architectes who deserve the compliments for the great job in creating such a nest which every nomad will absolutely love. Originally, it is a former army building which is converted into this comfy cabin. It was the owner that intended to make the change of this building which was built during the World War II.
To be exact, it is located in Sion, Switzerland. The transformations made are including the inserting of a glass cube into the old structure, an option which meant he didn’t have to touch the patina of the walls, and was able to preserve the roof and some historic details such as the “charge maximum 1500 kg au m2” sign on the wall.
Moreover, at first, in order to preserve this testimony to the past, it was planned to retain simple materials only – noble and solid – including larch, slate, glass and metal. The chalet is purposefully to be given eternal and timeless feel using clean, pure lines.
There is a big window picture window which is able to be concealed and revealed since there are wooden doors exist. For the lighting, the long, horizontal window is there to provide the path. This one is a nice modern space that really suit such cold weather and looking superbly comfy and cozy in luxurious and classy manner. It is a heartwarming place that will do for anyone.
